Purpose:
The Town and Village of Clayton (herein referred to as Clayton) have embarked on a consolidation effort with their independent departments in an effort to realize the efficiencies of a shared workforce, consolidated projects, common standards, and – importantly - a centralized and shared GIS. Having completed a comprehensive assessment including a GIS Needs Assessment, Conceptual Design, and Implementation Report the Town and Village of Clayton are moving forward with a recommended early stage deployment of a web based GIS serving a wide array of identified needs. This deployment is designed to provide a stable, centralized, robust, and useful GIS using the limited resources available in the near term.
Using CMV:
The CMV is a custom thin-client solution remotely hosted and built to support unique functionality as refined in the initial Clayton assessment and follow up meetings. The CMV is, at its core, a parcel-centric mapping application. In addition to general cartography and map output products, CMV will provide limited spatial data analysis (buffer) and data extraction (download) capabilities. In support of these functions CMV is designed as a dynamic mapping interface that the end-user can manipulate with common mapping type functions such as: Zoom, Pan, Identify, Print, Download, and more.
